The sedan body-type has endeared a lot of car fans all over the world because of its slick contours and lines. Two cars stand out when it comes to sedans and these are the Acura TL Type S and the Infiniti G35 Sport. Basically, these cars have all the fundamentals of becoming great cars but they are more than that of course. For starters, both cars are luxury autos that have a lot more to offer than their shiny hoods. As what I have done in the past, we’re going to look at these cars’ specifics, compare them and eventually pick which is the better one.
Acura TL Type S
Price: 38,000 USD
The Type S looks buxom and heavy but its lightweight chassis allows it to torch the road like a true-blue road devil would. It has a decent 3.5 liter engine which has 24 valves and it can churn out as much as 286 horsepower. If you’re curious about its acceleration then help yourself because it can zoom from 0-60 mph in only 5.5 seconds. In the open road, the S type can cruise to 150 mph.
On the other hand, when it comes to the exterior equation the Type S has an aggressive air dam and a chrome grille that gives it a classy and calm look. Moreover, the aerodynamics of the car is excellent with air flowing smoothly to prevent even the slightest drag. Meanwhile, the car also boasts of more than enough head and leg room unlike other cars that can be found in the same category. I was pretty impressed with its seats made of cow hide and the digital screen that indicates tire pressure, oil life, average speed and even the odometer.
If you’re into a lot of entertainment then the Type S is a pretty good choice because it’s packed ELS premium surround sound boasting eight speakers all in all. Aside from those, the multimedia artillery also has CD and MP3 players that every music lover will appreciate. On the other hand, the most important interior feature as far as I am concerned is its navigation system which is top-of-the-line no doubt.
Infiniti G35 Sport
Price: 33,000 USD
The G35 Sport is just like the Type S when it comes to how light its chassis is. Aside from that, its 3.5 liter engine has a little bit of power since it can generate as much as 306 horsepower. Its topspeed however is slightly lower at 145 mph although its acceleration is decent which is pegged around 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
The exterior of the G35 Sport is not all about aesthetics as proven by its aerodynamic design which has a coefficient of .29. Overall, it has more pop when it comes to the exterior aspect although its interior configuration is below par as compared to the S Type. On the other hand, its interior flaws are overtaken by the multimedia features that it has. It has a touch-screen navigation system, Bose sound system and media player with a radio data system. Best of all, it has an automatic temperature control if the aforementioned was not enough.
Overall, the Infiniti G35 Sport is adjudged the winner but it was a close competition nonetheless. Both cars have impeccable features but the S Type proved to be the pricier one which basically offers the same things that the G35 Sport does. At the end of the day however, it’s all about your choice on what car fits your needs and the satisfaction that you get from it.
