Everybody loves James Bond and his moves and without a doubt, we’ve gasped just like how our fathers did everytime he does his stunts while bringing home all the chicks. The thing is, there is no James Bond without a fancy and competent car and for decades, Aston Martin has supplied the Ian Fleming character the necessary wheels for his daredevil missions. One such car is the Aston Martin Vanquish, which was the official car of Pierce Brosnan in the 2002 flick “Die Another Day”.
About the Car
The Aston Martin Vanquish was designed by the great and renowned Ian Callum and was launched way back in 1998. Three years later, its production finally materialized, which paved the way for the Vanquish’s introduction to the public. The thing is the Aston Martin Vanquish did not have any major changes for several years although it remained to be the fastest, most powerful, and best-designed model from 2000-2007. The Aston Martin is arguably the fastest car that has ever come out of the Aston Martin assembly and aside from that, it provides a very comfortable and convenient ride that anyone can appreciate. Every Aston Martin Vanquish is mostly handcrafted and believe it or not, each one takes 800 hours in order to be finished completely and that’s 40 times longer than most cars.

The Features
The Aston Martin Vanquish has a 6.0 V12 engine that was designed by Ford and it can unleash a monstrous 520 horsepower at once. Despite of its weight that is pegged around 4100 lbs., the Aston Martin Vanquish can hit a maximum of 194 mph and an acceleration of 4.1 seconds from 0-60 mph. The tremendous force that the Aston Martin generates is negated by its well-designed chassis while it also has a Sports Dynamics suspension that provides excellent handling. Also, the exterior of this car is all made of aluminum in order to be lightweight and durable at the same time. The look of this car is serious and slick while showing everybody that it has a lot of things going under its hood and cabin.
Drawbacks
Despite of what seems to be a perfect-looking automobile in and out, the Aston Martin Vanquish seems to have something wrong with its paddle-shift gearbox. Moreover, the rear visibility of the Aston Martin Vanquish needs some serious fine-tuning. The rear window is far too small and when it comes to the cabin, James Bond would surely have something to say about it. I would have preferred a bigger interior since the whole car is so bulky from the outside and because of that it’s normal to think that there’s so much space inside, unfortunately there isn’t much.
Driving Experience
If you’ve watched how Pierce Brosnan handled this car in this movie then you might already have an idea of how well this car does on the road. Twisting roads are handled accordingly with very little effort while it can easily adjust its speed level. When it comes to braking, the Aston Martin Vanquish is simply solid in that department. The thing is this car is not only appealing because it’s driven by James Bond but also because it’s simply a solid and superior sports car that every driver would love. The car on the other hand, does not come in cheap and that’s never a surprise because James Bond will never drive anything close to a Volkswagen Beetle.
Conclusion
If you have the buck to spare and you’re after a million-dollar look in an instant, the Aston Martin Vanquish is simply the car that you would want to drive. There are some things to be wanted here and there, but overall if you’re driving what James Bond drives, will anyone even notice?
